Tour de suisse 2022 Stage 6 preview

Stage 5 recap

In all humility and honestly, I went completely wrong on my predictions for the stage. Using the heat as an ally, Ineos Grenadiers despite losing Adam Yates, dropping man by man every km. Despite all their effort , Aleksandr Vlasov proved his sprint is really on top.

 Stage 6 preview

This is what awaits us for tomorrow. 177.5 km and 2 hors category climbs.

The Nunfenpass is the first categorised climb of the day.  It classified as HC , starting at km 93 andgoes on for 21 km at 5% gradient average.

The final climb of the day starts with 18km to go at an average percent of 8%

As usually we expect an early breakaway to be formed with the KOM jersey, Quinn Simmons. hoping to get some more points. Alexey Lutsenko already down at 10mins will try to use this a pass to get into the break as will Ilan Van Wilder  and Clément Champoussin.
Remco Evenepoel stubbornness will persuade him to atrack but it is unlikely that the peloton will let him go at just 2:22 down. Thibault Pinot and Ion
Izagirre, are also going to be among the break away.
After a good transfer market, we expected to see more of Bora-Hangrohe is stage races and mountains, but no to point. After initially overflowing the classification, they protect their designated leader Jai Hindley. In the tour de suisse, we have seen Ineos looking good but Bora- Hansgrohe is the real deal. Vlasov , Grosshartner, Higuita and Konrad will be controlling the race tomorrow and they will have the team to beat.

Race predictions:

With a strong breakaway and some teams sending more than a single me , they could have a chance particularly if someone like Pinot finds his leg of the tour des Alps

It is however more likely that Bora-Hansgrohe and Ineos Grenadiers will work together to bring it back for their leaders.

Predictions with 5 stars to be split

★★☆☆☆ : Aleksandr Vlasov : the ease with which he came back to Fuglsang proved that it will be not be easy to drop and he definitely possess the best sprint among the climbers.

★☆☆☆☆ : Sergio Higuita: He could use the attention being on Vlasov, to spring an attack of his own.

★☆☆☆☆ : Neilson Powless : Impressive return to form that made us doubts Vlasov victory for a split second.
