2022 Critérium du Dauphiné - STAGE 7 Preview & Predictions Stage 7 Profile First Climb: Col du Galibier Second Climb: Col de la Croix de Fer Finish Climb This is where the big battle starts. The riders start with climb of the Galibier where some riders will try to attack to form the breakaway. Team Jumbo-Visma will content themselves to using Chris Harper to set a decent tempo. From there on, it will be the duty of Laporte and  Kruijswijk  to bring the leaders to the foot of the Col de La Croix de Fer. From there on, the pace will be set at speed to try to deter any attack but not to drop Wout van Aert .  Juan Ayuso who has to leave the race after suffering from stomach issue will be missed.  Attacks from David Gaudu , Enric Mas and Team Bahrain’s duo of Caruso and Haig can be expected. 2022 Critérium du Dauphiné - STAGE 6 Preview & Predictions After a fascinating nail-bitting stage 5, we will be served with another one on Friday. Nevertheless, the profile of the race could also favor a group of good riders in the breakaway. Stage 6 Profile Last 3 km With 2 category two climbs on the menu, there is no chance for Dylan Groenewegen and other big climbers to make it to the end. By the summit of the Col du Rousset which tops after 74km, a leading group with Pierre Rolland in it will try to cooperate for the next 120 km to the finish. Their chance will largely depends on how much Wout Van Aert would want  a third win and put his team to work. They can however expect some help from other teams who do not have men in the break.   2022 Critérium du Dauphiné - STAGE 5 Preview & Predictions Ganna took an expected win but he certainly will be worried about the fact he only was 2 seconds faster than Wout Van Aert on a circuit that favours the Italian. Among the GC contenders, Roglič was present losing only 42 seconds. Vingegaard, Caruso and Ayuso were less than a minute behind the  Slovenian . Ben O'Connor, Wilco Keldermann and Enric Mas managed a top 20 but are however already over a minute down Roglič.  Stage 5 Profile   This could be a stage for the break-away and team Jumbo-Visma will be happy having their 7 men together for the finish. Team Jumbo were ready to pace but not too hard so as to preserve their energy and Wout Van Aert's position.  Stage 4 Profile  Stage 4 is an ITT race of approximatel y 32 km with a near flat parcours. This should be a straight battle between Wout van Aert and Filippo Ganna. But hello! We have another thing  jeopardising the race : the weather! According to the forecast, it is expected to have a western wind of more or less 13 km/h, which could cause crosswind and risk the time trial race. Rain is also expected  throughout  the day. As a result, it is rather difficult to predict who will it favour. 2022 Critérium du Dauphiné - STAGE 3 Preview & Predictions Stage 2 reminded us as to why the tour de france is the greatest race. It takes the effort of several teams and their best riders to bring back the break-away, and sometimes it is not enough. After working hard to impressively reduce the gap to the break-away, the remaining sprinters' team simply did not have enough men to close a 30 second gap. Alexis Vuillermoz, a  brilliant  rider who was hampered by sickness and injury last season took a beautiful win.  Stage 3 Profile  Stage 3 is a completely different affair. A rather smooth half race where the break-away will try to take the maximum time possible from the peloton. The last 50 km shows a continuous increase in altitude. 2022 Critérium du Dauphiné - STAGE 2 Preview & Predictions Stage 2 Profile After a rather flat opening 10 kms, the peloton will continuously climb and descend through the whole day. This could be the stage for a break-away but the way several teams raced today means victory is precious. EF- education Nippo will be pretty motivated after young Sean Quinn’s 3rd place as will Intermarche wanty Gobert and Hugo Page.
